  • Say what you provide and where you are so visitors will know they are looking for the right thing in the right place.
  • Make sure you give enough information about where you are. For example, “backpackers hostel” in “small town” isn’t very useful if no one knows where “small town” is so say its near Sydney or Durban or San Diego, Ca.
  • Tell them what’s special about you, and make it easy for them to contact you. Be friendly and approachable. Tell them your name, your telephone number and email address, and make sure your website address is accurate.
  • Your advertisement should get people to remember you and build a relationship with you so a traveljunkie will want to visit your website and come back time after time.


"Get the best results from your advertisement"


  • Put your advertisement in the right place. Go to the Home Page and click on “Select a Country” to see if there’s a region that’s right for you. If you provide your service worldwide then place your advertisement in the most appropriate countries and refer to “worldwide” in your advertisement. Consider placing your advertisement in more than one country or region.
  • If you provide your service throughout the UK or US then place it in "All UK" or "All USA" and consider placing it in another region or State as well.
  • Take a look at the dropdown lists in “choose a category” to make sure your advertisement goes exactly where you want.
  • Write your advertisement in English to attract as many people as possible. In many cases, only people from your own country will understand local language and this will limit the effectiveness of your advertisement.
  • Keep your advertisement brief. We all get bored when we see lots of text. Remember the purpose of your advertisement is to grab people’s attention and get them to visit your website. Limit your text to 500 characters, that’s about six lines, but you don’t have to fill it up. Often, less is more.
  • Double check your contact details and especially make sure your website URL is correct and up to date otherwise the link will be broken and you won’t be found.
  • And finally, be careful about the language you use. We will edit, delete or reject inappropriate language.
